Amanda Goldberg, O.D.

Dr. Goldberg, a Scottsdale native, has been a patient of Dr. Cohen’s since she was eight years old and now has joined him in practice. She has wanted to be a doctor since third grade and was even awarded “Most Likely to Cure a Disease” by her senior class at Horizon High School. It wasn’t until her experience at The University of Texas- Austin, where she developed a new love for eye care and a desire to help people to better see the world around them. In addition to the time she has spent in Dr. Cohen’s office over the years, she recalls shadowing an optometrist in Texas during her junior year and watching a patient cry tears of happiness when she could finally see her husband clearly for the first time after being fit with specialty designed contact lenses.

After graduating college with high honors in Psychology, Dr. Goldberg moved to Fullerton, CA to begin her studies at the Southern California College of Optometry. She had some incredible opportunities while living in California as she was chosen to attend the Emmy Awards, The Price is Right, and the finale of America’s Got Talent (when Grace Vanderwaal Won)! Dr. Goldberg was a peer mentor and tutor to her younger classmates throughout her schooling. During her fourth year, she had additional training in refractive surgery co-management and ocular disease in clinics around California and Utah before graduating summa cum laude in May 2019.

Dr. Goldberg is happy to be back home in Scottsdale with her husband, Matthew, and two dogs, Rooney and Cooper. They love to explore Arizona, take long walks, and get lost in a good Netflix show.
